Going home, going home
I'm just going home
Quiet light, some still day
I'm just going home
It's not far, just close by
Through an open door
Work all done, care laid by
Going to fear no more
Mother's there expecting me
Father's waiting, too
Lots of folk gathered there
All the friends I knew
All the friends I knew
I'm going home
Nothing's lost, all's gain
No more fret nor pain
No more stumbling on the way
No more longing for the day
Going to roam no more
Morning star lights the way
Restless dream all done
Shadows gone, break of day
Real life begun
There's no break, there's no end
Just a living on
Wide awake with a smile
Going on and on
Going home, going home
I'm just going home
It's not far, just close by
Through an open door
I am going home
I'm just going home. -Annie Haslam

Sorry for your loss Mrs G, but glad you got to go home, it feels good!
Beautifully expressed! My sympathy at your entire family's loss but gratitude at your ever present view of what is truly important and heartfelt.((hugs))
Sympathies to you and your family. But also thanks for sharing the poem. Hugs.
I'm so sorry for your loss. Home does something to your heart just at the sound of the word. One of my daughter's once told a friend that home to her was "wherever my Mama and her stuff is." Now that my own mother is gone it's a strange feeling not to have that place where Mama is, except in my dreams. blessings, marlene
Ahh, that's simple beautiful. Blessings my friend. Blessings. Your writing of this event is filled with a sense of respect and honor, too. Love.
Sorry for your loss, I know these trips can be bittersweet. Glad your home safe.
Hugs ...
