Let me explain what you're looking at here, this picture is very cool... when I came into the studio this morning, and closed the door behind me, this is what I saw reflected in the window. On the design wall are the completed "Stars and Scraps Forever" blocks that I put up yesterday. This reflected image made me smile first thing this morning. I didn't scramble for the camera until after 6 AM. As you can tell, there's some weak, early daylight on the trees outside if you look closely. This mirror-image view was much clearer and more vivid before the sun came up. I'm pleased, for the most part, with the way this top is coming together. It is the quilt that is making itself, leader-ender style, as I piece something else! I wish now that I had used a lighter, brighter star background. I'm not all that happy with this pale mushroom-gray shade. But, hey, it was in the stash closet and soon it will be gone! However, I suppose that if I hadn't used that color the lighter small squares in the scrappy blocks wouldn't twinkle quite as brightly either. Here's the straight-on view:

I love the quilt, and I think the star background color was a good choice. When I enlarge the photo, the dark corners in the star blocks create an illusion that looks to me like those multi color blocks are almost sitting on top of the other part....kind of a dimensional look. I love it.
What a great quilt. It is amazing how fast leaders and enders can turn into an entire quilt. I like the contrast with the background color and the different shades in the alternate squares.
Wonderful quilt ... can only imagine how grand it will be once it is quilted!
Debbie, what a magical post. I have to say I 100% agree that if you hadn't used that one color the lighter small squares in the scrappy blocks wouldn't twinkle quite as brightly. That's a fact. I can really see that. They do twinkle and that, well that's magic. Wow. It really is. So neat!!!
Oh what a wonderful sight, the reflection is amazing. Love the quilt blocks, you are very creative. Leaders/enders I truly must try that for many reasons, one being I waste a lot of thread between blocks! Have a great week, hopefully cooler!
Lovin' that photo, GF.
Very nice! My club is going to do an Irish Chain in the leader/ender project.
I like the star background! It does seem to make your squares twinkle like little stars!
What a cool image. And the quilt is just amazing.
It is gorgeous! I have a feeling that I will try it myself someday. I have a lot of leaders/enders waiting for me.
