Do You Remember?

In case you didn't see 60 Minutes on Sunday night, Lesley Stahl presented this story; it was fascinating! Five individuals, including the actress Marilu Henner, were interviewed about their amazing ability to endlessly recall almost every day of their lives! This gift, termed 'Superior Autobiographical Memory', is being researched with truly surprising results; the scientists have only recently discovered the possible link between enlarged areas of the brain and this rare knack for recall. After watching this piece I admit to feeling sad when I think about how much I've forgotten! This blog will need to suffice as my external memory, at least until they invent a memory stick that works for human beings!

Life is Good!

I watched that, also, and found it so interesting. I do not have that ability, but was amazed at the man who remembered all the sports games. Really amazing.

We watched it also and hubby and I both agreed neither one of us certainly has any form of that ability!! But you are right about blogging. Sometimes I think about giving it up but it is a good reason not to. One of these days I won't remember where we went, or what we did! Heck - sometimes I have to reference back to it already for things like restaurants, quilt shops etc that we've visited!

There are some days that I wish I could remember better than I do and other days that I wish I could forget - isn't that the way life is! blessings, marlene

I hadn't seen it, Mrs. G., so I popped over and watched the segments on cbs.com...fascinating stuff!! I thought the connection to OCD was interesting. Makes me think of the Harry Potter quote: "To the organized mind, death is but the next great adventure..." THEY had organized minds (and closets! I loved Marilu Henner's closet! :-D) I'm not one of them either. I can't remember a couple of days ago, much less years. I'm not sure I'd want to be able to recall moments of absolute stupidity with that great a detail! LOL
Thanks for sharing!! I'd have missed this cool stuff if you hadn't!
Blessings,
Mary Lou

I didn't see that but it is truly fascinating. There are sure a lot of conversations I'd like to remember, and of course all the fun times, but really I would hate to recall the many more embarrassing moments of my life, LOL!
