When it comes to me and my quilts, slow and steady wins the race. You know, Mr. Aesop was pretty smart, it really does all comes back to this:"Give yourself the time you need to find your dynamic balance and rhythm before your body decides for you. Remember, you want your life to be a marathon not a hundred-yard-dash, so pace yourself."

I'm having a sewing outing today and I really needed this reminder so I will come home and rest rather than stay too long and push myself!
Yes it seems that I make more errors when I rush. Thats why block of the months are good for me I guess!
I know when to quit. In fact it was happening to me on Sunday when I was working on the Double 4-patch. After the third time of making the same stupid mistake, I shut down the sewing room and spent the rest of the day with hubby.
This is a lesson that I get to relearn every once in a while. But when I remember it, I live with less stress. And I do try to remember that my quilting/sewing/crafting is the fun I have in my great retirement.
That would be me :D slower than the turtle!! :) The bread is as delicious as it looks and smells. Wish you were here to have a cup of tea and toast with jam. :)
Two friends I know well! As Winter tries to finish up I can move from a "Hare" phase to a "Tortoise" phase. I hope! That Hare needs a flannel quilt for his nap!
That's a great quote Debbie. I think I'm one of those people that goes full tilt (I think I havwe a touch of OCD) and then suffers from burn out.
