Awestruck!

I'm seldom at a loss for words, this morning was an exception. I had mentioned a while back that I would like an end table in the studio, one like the photo on the left. My husband listened and made some measurements... then he got busy, very busy! His mother had a flood in her kitchen a little over a month ago from a leaking water line and the resulting kitchen renovation has required almost all of my husband's time; at least those hours from pre-dawn clear through to post-dusk! The kitchen project is coming along, but cabinets needed to be replaced, and counter tops, and the floor... you get the picture. This morning I made my way into the studio, turned on the lights, and was greeted by this wonderful table! He hasn't had any time to work on anything else, I was truly awestruck (still am). "When?" was all that I could croak out. He hugged me and wished me a happy birthday. I am blessed; what a guy!
Thanks, honey~

Just lovely.... I am imagining that it made Mr. Goodneedle very happy to be able to give you something he knew you wanted with the added grace of having been handcrafted by himself, someone with whom you have shared so much.

An heirloom for your family... and a wonderful and Happy Birthday to you, dear Mrs. Goodneedle. Becky G

Hooray for having woodworker husbands who can build whatever we dream up! Happy Birthday!

p.s. Make him date and sign it (inside the drawer or underneath the table). Ann Weaver taught me that trick based on the furniture at MESDA.
