I'm starting off the year on a roll. I am working long and hard on my Southern Album quilt, applying the "Dave Ramsey" approach to my UFO's as if I were attacking debt. Dave counsels (I listen to him on the radio when I'm in the car) that when paying off debt one should attack those accounts that are the most paid off first; providing a reward system that will spur the debtor toward taking on larger challenges next. Adhering to that line of thinking I am committing to the UFO's that are already the most completed. I have many to choose from; hopefully, one mark in the "done" column will prove contagious. It's worth a shot.

i'm a crown ministry grad and they have the same sort of guidelines; i am slowly but very surely working through debt; it's taking some time but making progress. stewardship applies to everything, even stash and UFOs...
I agree that finishing up the most "along" project gives quite a boost--and usually it takes a surprisingly short amount of time to just finish up if the focus is all on one thing. As someone easily distracted by shiny new projects, I need to remember this too!
I need to get back in line on my UFOs. When I finish one, I usually donate it. Happy New Year, Mrs. G!
I've heard this counsel on debt, but never thought to apply it to UFOs. Should work!
I like this idea. It makes a lot of sense and I think I might try it out in a few weeks after our return from out upcoming road trip.....
sounds like a great strategy for both debt and quilt UFO's! Good luck. I hope to get a list of all my UFO's once we move out of the rental home and get set up in the new home we buy this year... but for now they can just stay packed away.
Happy weekend! ~bonnie
