Back on the ship after a day of exploration. A glass of wine, a game of cribbage, and a city view from our stateroom balcony.
Life is Good!
Tomorrow's port of call: Warnemünde, Germany
Observances from my journal:
1. When Vor Frue Kirke was renovated in the 1950's it was converted from a monastery
to a church, that is when the underground church was discovered and unearthed.
2. Luckily for us, most Danish people speak excellent English.
3. Walking and bicycling are utilized so much more than in the U.S. |

What wonderful photos -- there's so much inspiration here. I love the curlicues on the first door. I'm with you, I love doors too, not just for their beauty but for what lies on the other side. It sure looks like the weather cooperated for you.
That interesting architecture in the first photo almost looks like some magazine holders I have :) The churches are soo beautiful. Thanks for the tour!
Gosh this is wonderful and I really noticed you have a great eye for photographing.
I feel like I'm travelling with you! Thanks! This is awesome! And yeah, I love interesting doors and windows, too! :o)
Ahhhh, yet another shared passion -- doorways and doors.
Thank you for sharing your photos and thoughts with us!!
Love the door details. I am enjoying this vicarious tour--maybe the only way I'll ever get there! : )
Looks like fun. While you say that biking and walking are utilized more, remember that Denmark is very small in comparison to the US. I we were the size of Denmark maybe we would walk and bike more too!
Lovely photos from Aarhus! My cousin and his wife actually went to college there many years ago.
We love visiting the old churches and cathedrals in Europe. I laughed at the wine and cribbage photo. Jim and I pack the cribbage board when we travel too. :-) Once got stopped by the TSA because they saw the little metal pegs in the board in the scanner and had to inspect that.
