Creating ~ For The Joy Of It

This little boy adores in spending time at his easel with markers. His joy is derived by taking a marker from the box, removing the cap and placing it on the opposite end, making a mark, and recapping the marker before happily choosing another color! His delight stems from the process, not the product. When was the last time you allowed yourself to experience process joy without getting bogged down by looking ahead? I know, for myself, it's been entirely too long!

Creative play is like a spring that bubbles up from deep within a child. ~Joan Almon

Love it! Oh if we could just learn to enjoy things like children do...

Oh my ... what a wonderful post. We have become such a "results" driven culture. This is a wake up call for me. God bless you for the enlightenment. Linda

Such precious photos. And he is in his "serious creating" work bibs, too. Love it, and the insight you shared with it!

Hhhmmmm, right now the only "process" I get to do is packing. I'm having trouble finding the joy in that.....

My o my, that boy is fascinating. I could just sit & watch him for hours!
As to process vs product.... I think i balance out a lot of "product" driven post.... Wish i could sustain a bit more "product" driven energy...
Today is Saturday... All day. Think I'll go finish a couple of Christmas presents! That'll be product & play.
