In The Garden

We took a day trip on Friday, to The North Carolina Arboretum. It was a picture perfect day in an incredibly beautiful setting. It goes without saying that The Quilt Garden was my favorite spot within the arboretum; although, there were nothing but stunning plants and gorgeous scenery at every turn. Take a virtual stroll along with me here; and, if you're ever near Asheville, don't miss a chance to experience this gem of a park for yourself.

This Lilac variey was labeled: "Common Lilac" note the white margins on the petals, from my perspective there's nothing "common" at all about these fragrant blossoms.

Okay, so this cutie and the flower pot were a little closer to home; Lynnleigh came visiting yesterday and I just couldn't resist following her around outside with a camera. She and I have a lot in common, we share a love of nature... she just takes a little more of a hands-on approach when it comes to flower appreciation!

Looks like a gorgeous place to visit. I LOVE that quilt garden. Very cool!
I have that striped lilac in my yard, along with a dozen other varieties. : )
What a cute photo--is she getting ready for a career in horticulture?

Lilacs are one of my favorite flowers. The one picture is called "Sensation". We have three of those planted across part of our front driveway and their fragrance is AMAZING! What a beautiful garden ... and LynnLeigh is getting SO big!! Thanks for sharing ;-) Linda

Very good indeed -- if you are ever in northern Indiana, I believe there are extensive quilt gardens planted there as well.

Quilt garden -- love it! I had a lovely lilac like that one before I moved. Thankfully I gave some cuttings to a friend and have now replanted one in my back yard in what I'm calling lilac row. I'm put to 5 different varieties along one side of the fence. Can't wait till next year when they will hopefully all bloom.

Love your little flower lover--boy is she getting big fast!
