Things are changing... albeit slowly, the shifts are subtle ones. The changes take place one. day. at. a. time. Who notices such things as they occur? But then, all of a sudden, it has happened. The mornings grow just a degree or two cooler when I step outside to walk each day. One by one the darkening evenings happen a moment or two sooner. The green leaves of summer surrender their edges to nature's paintbrush for a makeover. The landscape is transformed. Summer releases her grip and slowly, silently, slips into fall. Babies become first graders.
Time marches on and waits for noone.
Hold on as tight as you can, enjoy each and every day; the shifts are subtle but changes will happen... celebrate them.
Life is Good!

Yup. Spot on. SAM is starting FOURTH GRADE. This can't be right.
Well (and beautifully) said! LOVE the sunflowers. Remember my nieces and nephew starting school ... seemed like the next day we were attending college graduations! Hold on while you can ......
Those sunflowers are gorgeous, Mrs. G. These subtle changes are both welcome, and at the same time, bittersweet...
Beautifully written post.
"Enjoy each moment for what it is" is a lesson I learned when life changes were giving me anxiety many years ago. The Spirit spoke to my heart that it is all for good and enjoy the journey. It only gets better. : )
Beautiful post! Yes the morning light is coming later, some coolness in the temps, changes at the grocery. Fall is a beautiful time of the year and I think it will be coming early this year
Thank you. I can't go outside because of all the smoke from the wildfires, so I'm missing the subtle signs of approachin autumn.
Actually in Japan the changes come in one bit jump! Last week we were using the air conditioner, two days ago I brought out the heavy blankets and am wearing layers today! Unfortunately the sudden change makes it easier for people to catch colds. Still, I look forward to the autumn.
Excellent post!
Things outdoors are thinning and drawing in here too - along with shifts in temperatures and light.
Each day IS precious!
