These gingerbread cookies have filled the house with a homey, spicy and festive fragrance. Another glimpse of Christmas from my perspective, the days are growing shorter but my "to do" lists are not!
It truly looks like Christmas at your house! Just beautiful!! Gingerbread cookies and a glowing tree--it doesn't get much better than that. (Well, it would be nice to add carols playing and some hot cocoa with whipped cream on top.) : )
I am just getting caught up on your past posts this last month... reading them in reverse order. I was thinking that with your cookie decorating skills that you were probably doing some fancy cookie making. Good for you! They are beautiful! I have always wanted to make a gingerbread house and was even admiring the 'kits' I saw in Trader Joe's last month. I am so impressed that you've even baked your own house materials! I have a few of those advent calendars too though I haven't looked that closely to them recently... and the little golden book? I recall the pictures...I wonder if I've had the same book... I was so sorry to read about your mother-in-law's passing. I remember years ago when you wrote about your wonderful relationship with your mother-in-law and how envious I was that there was that closeness between you. I have seen her through your eyes as she grew frailer and I sort of understood about the difficult job of energizing and inspiring her that you and your husband had the last few weeks. How wonderful that she has made such a positive impact on all of your lives. I hope I will be able to say the same as your sister-in-law when my mother's time comes. Life is good... God is good.
