Whose idea was this?
Scented trash bags? Why? Okay, so I might understand why someone thought this could, potentially, be beneficial. C'mon, if your trash can has become so obnoxiously odorous, then it's high time for it to be transferred outdoors, not be masked (or combined with the objectionable scent of the bag itself). I detest these bags; my frustration level was only compounded when I stood in the store, in need of tall kitchen bags, and only having the choice of one scent over another: Fresh Clean, Gain Original, Gain Island Fresh, Fresh Lemon, Hawaiian Aloha, Lavender Breeze, Lightly Scented and Fresh Vanilla. 😝 I believe I will be carrying out the trash a LOT more often, accelerating the race to the bottom of this sixty bag box. Groan. Does anyone like this product?
Anyone? Please,
Glad, take a step back and make your original, unscented, tall kitchen trash bags easily available again. Now, as far as your claim that these are 2X stronger, I'm not sure what this is in comparison to; but that's another matter altogether. Hey, I can always double-bag these to the trashcan outside... that will hasten the disposal of these at twice the speed! 💡 Brilliant.
And then there's this: the ceiling demolition has begun, behind closed bedroom doors at the end of the hall.

View into our bedroom: one of three rooms where ceilings are coming down. Shudder. |
Today is Friday, my cleaning day. I can't clean with all of this going on (the noise in here is brain-rattling); those of you who know me will understand that this provides a great deal of anxiety, that, plus the fact that the bedroom furniture (minus our bed) is temporarily living in the family room. Oh, my. Chaos reigns. Hmmm... whose idea was this? This is my coping mechanism: breathing in, breathing out. One. Day. At. A. Time. I can't bear to think about how long this dust manufacturing process will go on, once this is done the hardwood floors will require sanding and refinishing! (Actually, this makes those silly scented trash bags seem like a trivial matter.) I am focusing on the positive now, the flood didn't occur anywhere near my sewing space; Hannes and I are hanging out in here today, this room has never been cleaner or better organized. And that, my friends, was my MY idea!
Life is Good!

yes those scented trash bags are horrific!!! no substitute for a clean trash can...used to have a roommate who let it overflow and then it leaked all over the kitchen...and then she would spray the trash can...never wash it...ewwwwww....and then i saw scented toilet paper recently....double ewwwww!
I use unscented everything--from antiperspirant to candles. The artificial scents in all of these aromatic products really mess with me.
Wow, what upheaval at your house! I'm glad you can find respite in your sewing room.
I do not like the scented trash bags. I did find one version of the Glad tall kitchen bags that come without a drawstring (they have two flapped sides to tie the bag shut) that is unscented -- and those are what I buy. I understand your distress with the demolition and re-construction - it will all be okay in the end but the process of getting there is indeed nerve-wracking. Your plan to breath in and breathe out is a good one - I'll be thinking positive thoughts for you.
(oops - left out the fact that the flapped Glad bags are unscented)
I too detest the scented bags; they are overpowering. Hubs insists on buying them and acting as though I'm ridiculous for objecting. Glad to know I have other company!
I use unscented everything...EXCEPT...lavender scented kitty poop bags.
The litter is unscented, but the slightly lavender scented bag makes scooping get bearable.
Oh, no! I have not seen the scented trash bags but I'm sure I don't want anything to do with them! I can't read magazines with the perfume inserts so I certainly don't want scented trash bags!!! It sounds like your sewing room will be your refuge while the ceiling and floor are being remodeled. I suspect sitting at your sewing machine will help to center you while chaos reigns around you. Hang in there!
You can find all varieties, scented and unscented, at the walmart site https://www.walmart.com/search/?query=tall%20kitchen%20trash%20bags&typeahead=tall%20ki and either order for pickup or home delivery. Win win!!
I cannot bear anything scented as my sinuses and lungs have problems with scents. If something leaks through a plastic bag, I wash out the garbage can. If nothing leaks, I just spray with Lysol and run away holding my breath.
