"Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves..." This is a test for me. The scripture is from Sunday's gospel lesson. I understand what it means, although I'm not all that fond of serpents I know that they are cautious and smart in avoiding danger and harm to themselves. This combined with the innocence of a dove seems incongruent at first thought, and then, impossibly wise upon further examination as it stands in relation to sin. Here's where the test comes in. I'm still sporting the "complaint free" bracelet on my arm as I assist in tackling a persistent problem at church that grows larger every day. I'm well-armed with this verse from Matthew. Wish me luck with the complaints!Life is Good!
