Yep, spring begins!
The other thing around here that's thawing out is my shoulder! Hooray!! You'll notice that "Physical Therapy" is written in on calendar, that's happening twice a week as well as dedicated exercise sessions at home, twice a day; that eats up a chunk of time...but it's all good. Little by little the pain and stiffness have gone away and flexibility and strength have returned in their place.
We did have to break down and buy a new refrigerator/freezer to replace the dead one at the bottom of the basement stairs. Mr. Goodneedle tried to bring it back by replacing some parts but, after time and money are spent with no success, you simply have to call it and move on. Luckily we didn't need anything fancy or color coordinated, we were able to find what we needed (one that worked!) at a good price with free delivery. I've slowly been stocking the new freezer this week; it takes time to build up the kind of inventory that we lost, and to be honest, it scares me a little to do this all over again. So, while the good news is what's thawing out around here the even better news is what's remaining frozen on purpose!
I'm making progress on "Go, Big Red". My original plan was to border six big blocks with a two inch inner border in white and and an outer border of assorted red four inch square blocks. Well, there won't be enough white fabric remaining to do that after all; but it's okay, I have a new plan. I'll run the outer angles right out into the dark red, scrappy border as illustrated above. I like it. Sometimes necessity gives birth to an even better idea; and, don't forget, I am more flexible than I was a few weeks ago... I can roll with this!
Life is Good!
