By definition a wildflower is just that, wild; a flower growing uncultivated in it's natural space.The state of North Carolina has in place a State Wildflower Program to beautify the interstate highways. The flowers bloom all spring and summer and make the drive a pretty one, wherever you're traveling to or from. The Program is funded with revenue collected from the sale of personalized license plates. This is all good, don't get me wrong, but I have a question: if they're planted, en masse, along I-40 are they still wildflowers? Just wondering...
