Time Machine

I stepped into what I thought was the shower this morning; I was wrong, what I stepped into was a time-machine. I turned on the water, soaped up, and was instantly transported back to 1971. It was Fall, I was a freshman at Vermont College. James Taylor was on the stereo, my hot pink rib-cord bedspread was smoothed neatly on my bed, under pillows and stuffed animals. I sat at my desk, writing a love letter to my boyfriend; instead of working on a term paper that was due, all this under the watchful eyes of my Snoopy poster on the wall. My roommate was enthusiastically spraying "Eau de Love" as though she was fogging mosquitoes. The scent was clean and fresh; transporting... scents can do that for me. If you remember "Eau de Love" you probably also remember the Calgon commercial that begged "take me away". It wasn't Calgon that took me away today, but rather Dove. Dove Bodywash, the new "Energizing" grapefruit and lemongrass; it took me away all right, all the way back to the signature scent of my college days! What did I do with my time back then, anyway? No husband, no kids, no quilts... there really was life before all that? Apparently there was; I'm happy to remember, but more thrilled to be where I am today, in a place with roots and a purpose! Thanks, Dove, for the ride. Grab a bottle, you might just be surprised where this innocent body wash could take YOU.

Life is Good!
