I'm working from the front-side of Sundance on this one: "It's A String Thing". This String-X quilt, a pattern from
Quiltville (thanks, Bonnie!), measures 68" X 82". I'm making progress. I put the pantographs away and decided to doodle my way around the top by way of free motion. It's going OK, I think I like it. I have marked wide cables on the borders, stay tuned, the learning experience continues and my confidence grows, albeit slowly. I still have much to learn, problem solving every step of the way. This one has the funniest hodge-podge of pieced fabrics on the back. I keep reminding myself that using up the stash is cleaning house at the same time!

Best wishes as you continue to find YOUR unique quilting "voice" ~ learning and having fun at the same time...
The quilting on that x-string is just great. I love it!! I am so happy for you and your new toy. Someday I hope to be in your shoes. Space is the biggest factor right now for me!
It is looking good. It looks like a good quilt to practice on and develop a rhythm - have fun!!
Congratulations, your quilting is looking good! There must be such a high learning curve with a long-arm but fun at the same time. The String-X is my favorite of all the string blocks.
OH MAN WOWW!!! (and that's what I said out loud for real)
Am I supposed to contain myself here? I dont think I can. I love your creative self. I truly, truly do.

It looks good and I love pieced backings so I'm sure the hodge-podge on the back looks great too.
Pretty quilting - and pretty quilt.
Look at those flowers in the white space! They are great!
I love it! I'm glad you decided to doodle on this quilt...it really fits the whole "using the bits and pieces idea"!
OH I LOVE IT, this must mean that Sundance II is working and more doable then its earlier rival LOL! Very pretty colors, and the pieced backings are always a favorite for me--learned that idea from a quilting buddy named Laurie!
I'm enjoying reading about your longarm experience! You seem to be getting the groove of things. It's looking good! Keep well!
You are having such fun . . . looks great *s*
Ah yes - Keep Mouth Shut - I must remember that one! A friend told me once I only open my mouth to change feet! LOL
I am loving your quilting experiments - I think you're doing a wonderful job. Thanks for taking us along for the ride!
*chuckling* KMS, love it!
