Trimming Those Pesky Dog Ears

I have the perfect assistant when it comes to trimming those pesky 'dog ears' as I am piecing blocks, Clover patchwork scissors. These are a fabulous investment; lightweight and sharp, with a micro-serrated blade they grip and hold while they make a swift and accurate cut. My pair lives right beside my sewing machine at all times, I don't know how I ever did without them! These are 5 1/4", (this is a small block) a very handy size.

Oops, looks like I have some quilt terminology explaining to do to my long-eared friend...

Cute puppy photo! I'm sure he'd not let you near him with those scissors!

I love these scissors too. KB suggested them for trimming behind applique.

I have a small pair of silver Wiss embroidery scissors that belonged to my grandmother (they have been sharpened between then and now) but I've been looking for a good backup ~ you've just shared the answer!

Poor Hannes ... cute photo quote!

Of course you wouldn't go near those silky ears with scissors...but they look like the perfect thing for the fabric dog ears!

Oh my goodness...now I have to have those scissors and those shoes, all in the name of improving my quilting skills. I do enjoy having all kinds of scissors and these look very interesting.

Now the shoes, I noticed those in the zoo picture first, as I am catching up on the reading. I thought..what cute shoes, wonder what kind they are. And then like you were reading my mind, there was a post about them!

If those are the same pair I'm thinking about, I'm a proud owner of pair! I use them for hand applique. They are point sharp and wonderful! I recomment them to my hand applique students. The price is right and so worth the investment! Cute block, new project? Cheers!
