Making Lemonade

The boys and I took the day off to hike at Linville Falls yesterday. We left home early in the morning, picked up some friends along the way; and, ultimately, found a load of lemons instead of a trail. It turned out to be a complete wash! No complaints though, we need the rain around here. So...we did some exploring inside a General Store nearby and found a semi-dry spot for our picnic lunch at Julian Price Park. Even though we didn't do what we'd set out to do originally we had a fun day away, ate ice cream on the way back home, and charged up the ol' batteries for the rest of the week. Yep, nothing like a little impromptu lemonade-making when Mother Nature hands you the raw materials!

Nice photo of the three of you! :) Sometimes the unexpected events are the best, for lots of reasons, and you got ice cream!

lemonade from lemons, quilts from scraps...its all good. We have had a few picnics in the car while listening to the rain and I actually remember them more than others! Glad you and the boys had a chance to get away.

Ahhhhhh what a wonderful picture, thank you for sharing your "lemons to lemonade" with us! We need rain so badly, maybe I should plan a picnic with the hopes it would bring some rain! Enjoy your week!

We also have fun when we just gad about. One never knows what is going to show up.

It has been years since we have been to Linville falls.
We used to camp at Julian Price when the kids were small. A very nice campground.
