Going Green, TOO Green!

I have a pile of prepped "Chubby Chicks" ready for appliqué, and a few others done and destined for their place on the design wall amidst the pinwheel blocks. I had a few yards of green chosen, but it's clear to me now that I went way TOO green.
The pieced alternate blocks need to be lighter and softer, still green; but more pear-ish. Ah, gee... back to the fabric store; darn! Please, feel sorry for me. I now have eight vivid green pinwheel blocks; seed for a future project: "It's Not Easy Being Green"... sing it, Kermit!

Life is Good!

That's my favorite color, but you're right...for what you are doing it needs to be softer. So sorry you have to go fabric shopping again...what a bummer! ;)

(can't wait to see what you find!)

I don't know, Mrs. G...it has a certain Easter Egg kinda flair!! :-D Probably not the "feel" you were going for, though...? Ah, well! It's always a good thing to have a real reason to go to the shop. Happy Browsing!
Blessings!

I hate when that happens but I suppose we all have a pile of "green" pinwheels somewhere in the sewing room. Have fun fabric shopping! Can't wait to see the finished result.

I am sure you will find a way to re-purpose the pinwheels. This will be a really cute quilt.

They are beautifully made pinwheels, Mrs. G! Maybe they can be worked into another baby quilt in the future--say a row by row?

Boy, THAT is a vivid green. I just feel so bad for you having to go back to the quilt shop. O dear.

I made "one" of those chicks too. They are so cute.
I made my one into a doorknob hanger for a friend.

The little ducks are just adorable! And what is a quilter to do when the green fabric is not the right green? I agree a trip to the fabric shop is surely in order, the right "green" is needed! I bet we will see these perky green pinwheels show up in another project soon, you are very creative and will use them well! Have a wonderful week!

Oh this is such a fun quilt. I made mine a year or so ago in orange ( also went a little overboard on the "orange" but still love it. You've inspired me to get it out and quilt it. I know the front and back are done just needs to be quilted. Can't wait to see it finished in green.
