I had been stumped by the four pointed star block pictured in a previous post. I couldn't identify it, or figure out how to piece it. Yesterday, I drafted it in EQ and printed out the exploded block diagram. (Once again, EQ to the rescue!) I printed the pieces onto freezer paper, cut them apart on the solid lines and pressed them onto the wrong side of the fabric. I added 1/4" all around, marked the corners and carefully stitched the pieces back together. I did stop, needle down, and pivot to accommodate that weird set-in shape; it worked perfectly.
VoilĂ ! Success!!
If anyone is interested in the print-out for this six inch pieced block, let me know and I will be happy to e-mail you the pattern as a full sized attachment.

…oh and good morning my friend. Your blocks are stunning. I love how you made this happen. You're one of the very best!!!
Wow! Lot of work but it turned out great.
Don't you love when something that's driving you nuts gets solved! I can't wait to see what you do next with this!
That was a lot of work but the quilt is probably going to be stunning!
I wanna try it! :D I always stay away from set-in seams, curved piecing, equilaterals, etc.
I'd like a copy. Thanks so much,
Gloria

You are so clever...these look great!
I loved this block when I saw it. Thanks so very much for offering your pattern. I would like to use it in some small pillows. I think my profile has my email associated with it.
Btw, love your fabric choices. B
Oooo! I'd like a copy very much :) I don't have EQ7 yet but am waiting for an upgrade to arrive. Thank you! :)
Worth every minute it took! Fabulous!!
I didn't click on the picture of the quilt, and my quick glance thought the block could be made with the Tri Rec ruler set. No inset seams, but more of them. However, your templates would show off pretty fabric much better...
Yes please! I really love the reds!

These are adorable! Bet they are like chips...you can't stop at one or two!
Hmm maybe the start of a red and white challenge quilt for next year's show?
What a great star! Electric Quilt to the rescue again!
