What's the best part of being a mature adult with grown children who now have families of their own and live elsewhere? Eating this for dinner on a Sunday evening! They'll never know...
I have to laugh because I had pancakes at McDonalds this morning with my husband, daughter and grandson. Afterwards, I had an ice cream cone. My daughter was amazed that I ate ice cream that early in the morning (it was only 9:30 am)!!
But three of our four adult children join us with their families for Sunday dinner. At least every now and then we do serve them waffles with whipped cream and berries. : )
LOL ... I remember once babysitting for my youngest niece. We were out and about early and she asked for some ice cream (between breakfast and lunch). Of course we stopped to get ice cream cones. My sister was appalled ... I told her to "chill" because ice cream contained many of the basic food groups ... milk, eggs, grains (in the cone), etc. She just shook her head. Being an aunt is GREAT!

A superb reward for all of the virtuous cleaning!

Looks like a perfect Sunday supper to me! :-). These are the perks of an empty nest.
Mmmm. We are about to dig into a homemade peach pie, just waiting for it to cool. Too bad we don't have some of your ice cream.

Hmmm, might have to change up my waffles for dinner menu....never tried serving 'em like that!
