Cheer Up!

With all the ridiculously cold temperatures (as well as the insanely dangerous wind-chills) going on in the country right now I thought it might be a good day to post a picture of this recently completed wool pillow top featuring a Robin, the universal harbinger of spring. Let this serve as a reminder that this won't last forever! My children learned a sang when they were in preschool with these words:
"Robin, robin, what do you say?
Cheer-up! Cheer-up! Cheer-up!
Spring is here to stay!"
Although spring isn't here at all, let's change that last line to say "spring will be here in 70 days". Let the coundown begin; I'm crossing off the days!
Life is Good!

This appliqué work is so pretty, we often have robins in our garden and on the feeders. Our weather has been grim here in the UK, storms and floods with people being evacuated from their homes. I can't wait for the Spring to arrive!

Very sweet and oh, so welcomed! I might be in TX, but it's cold here, too! No snow, at least.

What a lovely thought! Here in North Dakota it is -7 today. We are excited because it is supposed to get above zero tomorrow, 21 degrees above zero! I've been sewing brightly colored charity quilts to ward off the winter blues. :) Happy Quilting!

I hear it will be in the 60's on Saturday...CRAZY. I really need to do a wool applique project, I like the fact that you don't have to prep the pieces much! Its very pretty

We've had "Ardmore Attack Robins" in our yard quite a bit lately. Maybe they know something that we don't.
