Twirl, Girl, Twirl!

I was challenged to figure out what to do with that leftover pom-pom trim from the Big Hex. I had an idea! Remembering this book on my shelf:

...and a particular dress in that book...

I decided to add it to the hem of a T-shirt dress for my favorite little 4-year-old twirling girl. She came over yesterday for a "fitting". Measurements were taken and I made this dress up for her in the size suggested. It appears to be quite roomy upon completion, she had to leave before Nana was done, I believe she'll have this dress to spin around in for several seasons. Since I finished it up after her departure and  I still had the dress here with more time to think about further embellishments I came up with a plan. Yes, it definitely could use a monogram! That's what happens when things languish in the vicinity of the embroidery machine.
Perfect!  Really, who wouldn't want to twirl around in a dress like this one?

I made good use of that pom-pom trim, right down to those last few inches!
(The color in the photo below is much more representative of the actual hue than the above photos.)
Life is Good!

Definitely will be a popular dress from Grandma! My Grandma used to make my sister and me a lot of dresses when we were little. ❤️

What a precious post today. Lynnleigh will love the dress. I'm 56, one of my oldest memories is of my paternal Great Grandmother making my sister and I identical dresses. She would fly in from California several times a year and she always had a new dress for us. They were beautiful and far superior to anything you could get off the rack. If I was given the opportunity to bring back anything from my childhood it would be one of those dresses.

I am taking a few minutes this morning browsing my favorite blogs before we head up to NH to visit our daughter and two granddaughters-ages 2 and 4.

Packed and ready to go (besides supper) are the t-shirts and ruffle fabrics to measure both girls to make the same pattern as the lovely one you made: all organized before I saw the dress you made.

Hope they come out as adorable as the dress you made.
