Facets

Facets ~ 55" X 55"
Currently this is a nine block quilt top, the results (so far) of this year's BOM at my LQS. I am still deciding, but this may be as far as I go with this one, I like the symmetry of the setting as a square quilt. This has been a stretch for me as I chose to stay in a monochrome state of mind, but varying the low volume backgrounds has added enough interest for me to keep things interesting. These blocks are all based on traditional patterns constructed using Deb Tucker's Studio 180 tools and technique sheets, I designed the setting based on her Split Rects tool.

I love those split rectangles I think I'm going to have to try that setting. I'm heading off to day two of a great strings class we started yesterday. Spent the morning learning all about how to use low volume and wandered into the shop and brought in bolts of low volume and talked about what works and what doesn't. For her strings (1.5") you can use a lot of stuff that I wouldn't have thought were low volume. Lots of fun -- https://stashlabquilts.com

I think I would be tempted to stop at nine blocks as well - beautiful symmetry and so many elements to inspect/enjoy. Love the color combinations.

Very pretty! Makes me think of a display of turquoise jewelry for sale in the Southwest. The setting really makes your blocks shine!
