Clematis has exploded around the lamp post and Hosta is emerging through the recently spread pine needles just in front of that, Daylilies are lush and green along the walk.. These reminders are physical proof that hope and promise abound!
Green is returning to the deep woods and creek bed in the background behind this stand of trees, the color ramps up almost daily. Yes, spring is coming, it's creeping in and can't be stopped!
My perennial garden responded well to a clean-up; I was thrilled to discover that I've had a high retention rate of plants. This garden was new to me last year and it's been a learning experience with each and every plant. Seeing these old friends reemerge and look hardier and healthier is a pure joy!
Mr. Goodneedle is finding plenty to occupy himself during our "shelter at home" time; he's dug a trench and poured footings for a future planter/retaining wall behind our patio. neither one of us are running out of projects to fill our days. The warmer temperatures allowing us to get outside are pure balm for the stay-at-home soul; this week's forecast is for cooler days again, but spring is creeping in nonethess, it can't be stopped, thanks be to God!
Adapting to our now state-issued "stay at home" order: my empty flowerpots all ready for annual color outside our home may stay this way indefinitely. Normally we would drive across the state to our favorite family-run nursery and fill the car with flowering plants for seasonal display. I'm not sure what the local options might be, or when these pots might be planted up, if at all this year. In the meantime, I'm enjoying the change of seasons and the color that God is so graciously providing. I have complete and total faith that together, as responsible citizens, we'll come out stronger and healthier on the other side by heeding the current rules and restrictions. Stay safe and healthy ~ 🧼 was those hands!

Happy Monday to you! So many of your plants are already up; I've got Iris bulbs just breaking through the soil. Most of our plants are still dormant, but our grass is starting to get green. I love your wall hanging-perfect for this time of year.
I pray that you are all staying healthy, by sheltering down. I am still getting out to walk and that helps so much.
Sending love your way.
