Palm Sunday 2020

Driveway chalk artist: Lucy Ann, age:9
Hosanna!

In today's online worship service Pastor Kevin explained to us that Hosanna, translated, means: "save us, we pray". There's no better exclamation for us on this Palm Sunday, 2020. He went on, in his sermon, to lay out how after Jesus' triumphant ride into Jerusalem that circumstances turned on a dime. Jesus comes to endure the cross and the grave because he can not endure losing those he loves, his beloved creation, you and me. Jesus is willing to die so that we may live. Because of this reality, this sacrificial love from an all-powerful God, the hope-filled truth is that this is mightier than any virus, pandemic and even death itself. Things appear dark and ominous; the times seem desperate but they are no match for the reality of the cross. Our prayers do not go unheard, this world does not get the last say in the matter, our God comes to us and He is willing to die, so that we may live. He is willing to pay the price for our sin, the wages of sin is death, and it is a death that he willingly and lovingly embraces. This is our king, this is our God, this is love!                   ~Rev. Kevin Powers

“Hosanna, Hosanna in the highest”,
save us we pray ~ and He does.

I pray that these words will bring you peace this day, this week,
as they have for me.

Life is Good!

Absolutely love this post. Yes, may He save us from our sin, this deadly pestilence and all that plagues our great country. Thank you for sharing; love the chalk drawing too.
Have a blessed Holy Week.
