Rest & Recovery Weekend

I would like to thank you for your prayers and well-wishes on behalf of our son during his recent surgery and as he recovers over these next few weeks. He and our expectant DIL, along with Gregory (and Diesel), were our guests this past weekend enabling us to help out with our very active grandson (and Lab) while they got some much needed R&R in our theater room recliners! Gregory put the  puppies "night-night" under a towel... looks like Mom and Dad weren't the only ones enjoying some much needed rest at Nana and PawPaw's!

Running Sideways!

These are busy days, post vacation. It's a good thing I got plenty of R&R while I was gone, I need it now. I'm playing catch-up with various classes, commitments and everyday responsibilities. Lucy Ann's Easter dress is officially crossed off the "to-do" list. We have clean clothes, the mail has been managed and there is dinner on the table every evening, no small feat while running as fast as I can to stay abreast. Plus, tasks ahead are looming large. I should sort through 752 vacation photographs and arrange at least some of them into a slide show capturing the highlights of our journey through the Panama Canal. There is a graduating class of sixteen at church that will soon be needing quilts. Quiltkeemosabe and I used to tease each other about running so fast we needed to head sideways to keep from taking off; these days I believe there's a lot of truth in that...at any rate, it's advice I'm heeding. I can't risk taking any chances, who knows where I'd land?

At A Snail's Pace

Things are moving along at The Strawberry Patch, albeit at a snail's pace. If I went any slower I'd be backing up... back is the operative word here. Groan. I don't take kindly to being involuntarily side-lined, or even slowed down for that matter. Four hours in a folding chair (I was enrolled in a class) on Friday undid all the healing up to that point. The church pew didn't help things yesterday either. Today I'm still working on the borders for my batik quilt, but can only work in spurts and short bursts and then I need to apply heat to my lower back and rest again. Bummer. I think the results will be worth it... on the quilt and on my back! I'll be back soon... sorry, I couldn't resist that one.

Las Vegas Bound!

I'm on a short-term break. We've taken a brief trip to Las Vegas for a few shows and some R&R; taking advantage of airline miles. I would ordinarily promise you a post as soon as I return; and yet there is that motto regarding whatever happens there staying there! We'll see...
