Running Sideways!

These are busy days, post vacation. It's a good thing I got plenty of R&R while I was gone, I need it now. I'm playing catch-up with various classes, commitments and everyday responsibilities. Lucy Ann's Easter dress is officially crossed off the "to-do" list. We have clean clothes, the mail has been managed and there is dinner on the table every evening, no small feat while running as fast as I can to stay abreast. Plus, tasks ahead are looming large. I should sort through 752 vacation photographs and arrange at least some of them into a slide show capturing the highlights of our journey through the Panama Canal. There is a graduating class of sixteen at church that will soon be needing quilts. Quiltkeemosabe and I used to tease each other about running so fast we needed to head sideways to keep from taking off; these days I believe there's a lot of truth in that...at any rate, it's advice I'm heeding. I can't risk taking any chances, who knows where I'd land?

Beautiful dress! That's one very lucky little girl to have such a talented grandmother! Slow down, take time to smell the roses--or whatever might be in bloom now for you. We can wait some more for those vacation pictures....

Wow you are a busy lady! The smocking is beautiful. Sorting photos is something I never get around to...really have to discipline myself. I thought life slowed down when kids had left home but that clearly isn't so and I cant imagine where I got that impression!

Awllll what a sweet*sweet*BEAUTIFUL little dress! This is exactly the type of dress I always imagined dressing my little girls in one day.

But then after I had my babies, so many good hearted people gifted us with clothes and dresses - (both brand new and gently used) however none of them with the beautiful smocking... and with each aged size 0-3mo or 3-6mo 6-9mo 12mo even up to age 3 We have always had anywhere from a dozen to 25 dresses for church and so I just never could bring myself to purchase and pay for yet another dress... since we already had so many at home.

Maybe by the time my daughters are mothers I'll have learned how to make them and then you can bet my grandchildren will have the very best!

I also saw her slip you made. Perfect. :)

Love from Texas! ~bonnie
