Timeless

"Timeless" is bordered and ready for a date with Snowbird. I believe that she'll have to wait for "Red Letter Day" to come off the rails first, I'm trying to establish an order for the next to be quilted. One of the criteria for that to occur is having backing fabric in the house and ready to go (those important things)! In the meantime there's been lots going on in and around the house. The joys of home ownership... right?!! Mr. G. decided a long time ago that he wanted to replace all of the drop-in, metal, floor vents with flush-mounted wooden ones. It's not a simple swap out, let me tell you that.
Although that "before and after" look pretty straight forward let me tell you there was a LOT of noise and DUST!! Home improvement is always happening around here. As we prepare to re-do our kitchen with all new cabinetry and countertops we planned a date to look at new appliances. Our current kitchen is 21 years old and we knew that we were on borrowed time with everything that is plugged in. No sooner had we placed the order (appliances ordered today won't appear until anywhere from January 2023 until a year from now!) than the refrigerator took one final gasp, and died! Seriously, on the very same day.
Here's the view today. Mr. G. has assessed the situation and thinks (fingers crossed) that we can cobble this one back together to last another year! Time will tell.

I believe in him. Who else would have handcrafted this flush mount floor vent to perfectly match the strip in the floor? He's amazing. I really have no business complaining about the dust and the noise, now do I?
"Timeless" measures 72" X 72"

Your husband has talent, no doubt! What a very pretty finished top. I perked up at your refrigerator situation, as I have a 35 years old one...but I am handing on to it, as the new ones just don't seem to last as long. At least it is no avocado green!!

Oh, that is such a story that your fridge died the very day you ordered new!! I hope you can get it running and keep it going until the new one arrives.
Your husband is amazingly talented with wood (and apparently appliances, too). That matching floor vent leaves me in awe!!

Oh good grief. On a silver lining note, at least the current fridge got a thorough (if unplanned) cleaning inside and out (sigh). As to the long wait times for appliances, we are in a similar position with our dishwasher. DH has screwed things together (the upper area where the handle and controls reside) and we are hopeful that sometime next year the model we want will become available. Fingers crossed that Mr. G's temporary fix for your fridge holds.

Your husband is a gem! And such perfection! My husband is a "wonky" carpenter and has a ball doing it but the only one who thinks its anything to crow about is me!
